Concentration: promotes the mind-body connection. As you focus on each body movement, you receive optimum physical value from every movement.

Centering: brings your focus to the center of your torso which Pilates called the “powerhouse.” Today we refer to it as the “core.”

Control: or mindfulness, promotes proper, safe and complete muscle control.

Precision: means that executing one exercise with deliberate accuracy is more important than completing more repetitions with sloppier form.

Breathing: deep, controlled, diaphragmatic activates blood circulation and awakens cells and muscles.

Alignment: from head to toes is key. During a Pilates workout, it is important to be aware of the position of your head, neck, spine and pelvis to ensure proper breathing and technique.
